    Alien skyline

    After the previous blog post I decided to experiment some more with the low-key monochrome look. Just like the previous one, this photo is also taken just a short walk from where I live. The domes in the foreground are part of a floating pavillion that houses an exhibition about climate and sustainability. It reminds me of artist renderings of a human habitat on Mars or some other extraterrestrial planet.

    Composition wise I think it turned out interesting, but it s almost a little too busy for my taste (which admittedly is very minimalist), even after cropping out some distracting elements on the bottom and right of the image.

    I also did an alternative version with a less stylistic look and a different crop (below)

    In this version you can see some red construction cranes in the background on the right, which I had cropped out in the other version, where they were very distracting and made the image to busy. In this second version they seem to work, since the red color ties in with the red facade of the building on the left. The two red elements sort of frame the image.
